Project- Transfer Trench (Canal)

Trenches for transferring Runoff to Patenpis Syncline

To calculate the required excavation volume, a cross-section is drawn every 250 meters from the trench excavation site. In other words, 8 sections are drawn within 2000 meters of the trench entrance. The red line on the section shows the height from the bottom of the trench to the highest point of the topography. For example, in channel 1, in the green cross-section, 1375 meters from the entrance of the trench, at an elevation of 29 meters from the bottom of the channel, considering a width of 30 meters for the bottom of the trench and considering the slope of the trench wall, the amount of excavation is calculated, which is 1711 square meters in channel 1. The average area of each section is multiplied by the area of the previous section at a distance of two sections (250 meters) to calculate the excavation volume between two sections. The sum of these distances determines the total excavation volume. The left image shows the position of the drawn cross-section on the satellite image. The brown curve shows the elevation of the points.

Trench 1: This trench is 2 km long. The heigth of its starting and points are 252 meters and 235 meters respectively.

Trench 2: This trench is 5.1 km long. The heigth of its starting and points are 222 meters and 208 meters respectively.
