Petrochemicals
The main necessities of the country are to move away from raw material exports and produce petrochemicals to maximize the added value of these resources. This is a topic that will be considered in this panel.
In this regard, the construction of the seventh national gas pipeline to transfer gas from Assaluyeh to Pakistan provides a golden opportunity for the development of the petrochemical industry in the Makran Coasts. These projects have been defined and located in two areas: Jask and Chabahar.

•Utilities and Offsite Units Construction Plan
•Assaluyeh-Chabahar Ethane Transfer Plan
•Production of Various Polymer Alloys
•Jask Petrochemical Complex
Refinery and Petro-Refinery Projects
The construction of four refinery and petro-refinery units with a total capacity of 1.1 million barrels is planned in the Jask region. The financial resources required for the construction of these units are estimated to be around 23.5 billion dollars. The feedstock for the refinery units located in Jask can be supplied via the sea and the Goureh-Jask pipeline. Due to the region's access to the open sea and proximity to the South-North Corridor, the conditions for exporting its products are favorable.
Petrochemical Projects
In the Makran Coasts Development Plan, petrochemical units have been located in two areas: Jask and the Negin Makran Petrochemical Complex in Chabahar. The feedstock for these units will be supplied by gas and oil pipelines. The GTPP, GTX, and Ammonia/Urea projects are among the petrochemical projects that have been planned in the Makran Development Plan. A review of the history of this issue shows that Chabahar was introduced as one of the development hubs of the petrochemical industry in previous years.
This region is planned to be developed based on three main feedstocks: methane (natural gas), ethane (transferred via pipeline from Assaluyeh to Chabahar), and finally South Pars gas condensate. However, over time and with changing conditions, currently, the only potentially available feedstock in this region is natural gas. If the gas transmission pipeline from Iranshahr to Chabahar is exploited, the capacity for developing gas-based petrochemical industries in this region will be prepared.
It is worth mentioning that currently, two projects, Badr Shargh and Sina Chemical Industries, are being planned in this region to convert natural gas to olefins (GTO). In the best-case scenario, these two projects will come into operation in the next six years.
